Addressing a Critical Gap for Women and Girls in Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire faces a significant gap in services designed specifically for women and girls. While there is growing recognition of the unique challenges women and girls may face, access to dedicated, informed, and effective support remains limited across the county.

In response, a growing number of academics connected to the University of Lincoln are conducting vital research into the experiences, needs, and wellbeing of women and girls. This academic focus aligns with regional policy developments such as the Lincolnshire Women’s Strategy (2021) and the subsequent Concordat for Women and Girls in Lincolnshire, created by the Safer Lincolnshire Partnership.

To help bring these commitments to life, the Lincolnshire Women and Girls Research Network (LWGRN) works in collaboration with women and girls, Concordat signatories and other local partners to develop, implement, and evaluate services that are evidence-based, needs-led, and informed by both lived experience and global research.

Why Investment Matters

Supporting the LWGRN will help build meaningful, long-term change for women and girls in Lincolnshire and beyond. Resources are essential to:

  • Amplifying the Experiences of Women and Girls: Ensuring women and girl’s voices remain heard and at the forefront of improving services.
  • Turn Research into Action: Translating academic findings into practical, scalable services that improve lives.
  • Build Knowledge Exchange Pathways: Ensuring that local learning informs national and international policy and practice—and vice versa.
  • Strengthen Local Services: Enhancing the capacity of local organisations to deliver more responsive, gender-responsive care and support.

Our Vision

The LWGRN is an inclusive, interdisciplinary network that brings together women and girls, academics, practitioners, and students. The network is committed to improving outcomes for women and girls by combining research excellence with real-world impact.
